THE STORY BREAKING NEWS: Son Of Vigilante Chairman Nabbed With 750 Rounds Of Live Cartridges In Delta

Delta State police Command has paraded a 28-year-old, one Mr. Ogorchukwu Mokwe, son of Mr. John Mokwe, Chairman of a local vigilante group in Illah, Oshimili north local government area of Delta State.

Parading the suspect, Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr. Ari Mohammed Ali, disclosed on Tuesday October 5th 2021 that the suspect was caught in a commercial bus from Onitsha, Anambra State.

According to him, “men of ‘A’ Division, Asaba, intercepted a commercial bus coming from Onitsha. Upon search, 750 rounds of live cartridges were recovered from one of the passengers named Ogor Mokwe, from Ajaji Village, Illah. Suspect was arrested”, disclosing that investigation is ongoing.

The suspect, Mr. Ogorchukwu Mokwe, in his reaction, said: “I am the one that bought them. I am taking them to my place, Illah because they are doing their festival.

“They started since yesterday. So, both vigilante and anti-cult people, are using them. My Daddy is one of their chairmen there. They will use them to secure the place”, adding that none of his family members are aware that his is in police custody, as he is denied access to his phone despite several calls.
