THE STORY BREAKING NEWS: Police Allegedly Caused Fatal Accident, Kill One In Delta

Report reaching The Story news desk, has it that a Mercedes Benz with five occupants was allegedly chased by men of the Nigerian Police Force, Delta State Command leading to a crash.

It was gathered that the police purportedly shot at the vehicle while chasing it to demobilize it but the bullet hit one of the occupants, leading to the death on the spot.

The incident occurred directly opposite Edward Udorah Street, off Direct Labour Agency (DLA), Road, Asaba, Delta State.

It was gathered that three of the occupants managed to escape from the police and th scene of the accident.

Also, it was alleged that one of the passengers was arrested by the police.

Although, The Story, is yet to get details of the crime committed by them that led the police to chase the occupants of the Mercedes Benz, an eyewitness said it was the police that chased them.

According to the eyewitness who identified himself as Iziren Mencular, said: “DLA road, I saw it just happen just now”.

At press time, it could not be ascertained whether the vehicle occupants were suspected yahoo boys or bandits.

Contacted the Ag. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, said the news was alien to him.

Hear him: “Ok, I am not aware for now. I don’t have any information, I can’t tell whose team must have done that for now. I am alien to what you are telling me but once I get any information regarding that one, I will call you”, he added.

Meanwhile, a Rights Activist, Victor Ojei, aka Wong Box who made the post on his Wong Box Facebook page, pleaded with the public to avail him useful information as to what actually happened.

The post reads: “Please anyone with useful information about the department of the police that chased this Mercedes Benz should kindly inbox us.

“There is an allegation that one of the passengers was shot by the police and 3 escaped and one was arrested/detained.

“We need to know the true story from an independent source. Kindly share this please, we need feedback urgently”, he posted.
