The alleged ritual suspect, Mr. Chuka Nwosu, who hypnotized and rape a 13-year-old girl, Miss Joy Nwabueze Onua, has reported submitted himself to the police.
A post on Facebook by Harrison Gwamnishu, disclosed that Mr. Chuka, confessed to the crime, noting that the suspect is currently at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), in Asaba.
According to him, “Mr Nwosu Chuka, staff of Delta State Local Government Service commission who hypnotized and raped 13 year old girl who later bleed to death has surrendered himself to the police after weeks in hideout.
“He’s currently in custody of SCID Asaba. He admitted to act and pleading for leniency. The deceased girl is still at FMC mortuary Asaba”, he saiy.
It would be recall that The Story, had reported that a yet to be identified 13 years of old girl has been allegedly raped to death by a suspected ritualist one Mr. Chuka Nwosu, at Bathonic Hotel, Issele-Uku, Aniocha north local government area of Delta State.
But in a press briefing by the Chairman, Delta State Child Implementation Committee, Mrs. Kevwe Agas, had told journalists that the Committee was waiting for the police to make the arrest for the commencement of court proceedings.
“When the case of death of a 14 year old rape victim, Miss. Joy Nwabueze Onua, also in Issele-Uku was broken, our team of investigators were sent to gather information for the Committee. We have done our report, now awaiting the police to arrest the culprit so we can commence legal action”.
Asked to make the report of the Committee public, she said the report was to arm themselves for the legal battle ahead and not to give the suspect space to equip himself against them.
At press time, painstaking efforts to get confirmation from the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, meant brick wall.
But a member of the Committee who doubles as Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, Comrade Patrick Ochei, confirmed it.
