Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), have detained a former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to ex-Governor Murtala Nyako, Sheriff Rabiu, over alleged landed property running into millions of naira.
Sheriff, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, was arrested and detained on Friday, according to information obtained Saturday, following a petition by management of Sabore Farms Ltd, an outfit belonging to Murtala Nyako.
Murtala Nyako, a retired naval chief, was the elected governor of Adamawa State between 2007 and 2014.
Nyako who had always been a big-time farmer, returned to his expansive farm, the Sabore Farms Ltd, located at his home Mayo-Belwa local Government Area, after leaving Government House following a controversial impeachment in 2014.
According to a petition addressed to the Director of Adamawa State Command of DSS, Sheriff was instructed by Sebore Farms to buy a landed property at the cost of N80 million.
The petition alleges that Sheriff changed the sales agreement to Ashran Nigeria Limited, a company which the complainant believes belongs to Sheriff.
