New information has surfaced regarding the accusations made against Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
On Friday, June 9, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took the decision to suspend Emefiele from his position as CBN governor.
According to a report by The Punch, Emefiele, along with his aides and other high-ranking officials, will undergo questioning in relation to the following matters:

The controversial sale of Polaris Bank Alleged financing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)
Allegations bordering on forex fraud.
According to a source within the Department of State Services (DSS), as reported by the Punch newspaper, it has been disclosed that the secret police have assembled a skilled team of interrogators who will question Emefiele regarding the following allegations
Alleged terrorism financing Mismanagement of the CBN and economy Naira redesign policy, amongst others.
The source also mentioned that the DSS is considering seeking a court order to detain Emefiele, allowing for unrestricted interrogation.
According to a report from Leadership newspaper, security sources have disclosed that Emefiele is expected to face charges in court next week.
The security sources further stated that Emefiele has been involved in a contentious dispute with the DSS concerning allegations of terrorism financing, fraudulent activities, and economic crimes with potential national security implications.
Additionally, there are claims of mismanagement related to the CBN subsidiary, NISRAL, and the Anchor Borrowers Programme.

However, the recent confirmation from the DSS indicates that Emefiele is indeed under arrest.
CBN Governor: APC Governors have asked for Godwin Emefiele to be sacked. In a related update, Ejes Gist News had previously reported that even before President Tinubu suspended Emefiele, there were calls from notable individuals in Nigeria for his immediate dismissal.
President Tinubu, on Friday, June 9, took the decision to suspend Emefiele indefinitely and also initiated a probe into the matter.
