Boys suspected to be hired assassins killed a car dealer by the back of Regent International School, close to Christ Embassy in Jeddo, Okpe local government area of the state.
Trouble started on Sunday 22nd November 2020, when the deceased, identified as Mr. Nelson Ugboh, in his 40s, was waylaid while trying to lock the gate to his compound after returning home at about 10:00pm on the fateful day.
It was gathered that Ugboh, may have been setup by l business rivals who may be jealous of his successes.
The deceased has his car mart opposite Saint, Anthony Catholic Church, Airport Road, Warri.
Checks revealed that the assassins, kept watch in a nearby drinking spot, before attacking their victim, aimed at his head, killing him on the spot, before zooming off without interference.
It was learnt that one of the gunmen was said to have entered Ugboh’s house, destroyed some vital business documents and made away with others, for reasons best known to them.
Ugboh, died leaving two wives and five children behind.
The death of Ugboh, is the height of criminal activities that had enveloped Jeddo in past two weeks, with reports of increasing wave of burglary and robbery in the hitherto peaceful Okpe Community.
It would be recall that the crime rate in Jeddo, has made the community leadership to order shop owners to close their shops latest 11.00pm daily.
The state Commissioner of police, Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa, confirmed the spike while playing host to members of the Indigenous Correspondents’ Chapel (ICC), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, yesterday in Asaba.
