Security Outfit Nabs Delta Governor’s Kinsman, One Other Over Phone Theft

Delta State governor’s kinsman who identified himself as Frank Joseph, 30 years old, an indigene of Owa-Oyibu, Ika north east local government area, has been arrested.

Also apprehended, is his partner in crime, one Chukwuka Omosor, a 28 years old from Kwale, Ndokwa west area, were caught Friday evening, 20th November 2020, in the act by Agbor Gha-Ihun security group in an attempt to steal the fifth phone for the day from a female saloon store at Orikeze avenue in Agbor.

One of the stylists who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that both suspects came on a bike while one of them entered her shop on the pretence of buying shampoo.

“He asked that I should give him shampoo but I told him that it has finished. Later he asked for another item and while I turned to bring the item, he smartly picked my phone which I kept on the floor,” she said.

Luck ran out on the suspects who unknowingly were been watched by the security men that were around and were spontaneously given a hot chase.

On their part, the suspects confessed seperately to their crime and named places where they had stolen four other phones from.
 
They were subsequently paraded round the stores by the gallant Agbor Gha-Ihun team led by Comrade Monday Kiyem, who in his words warned residents to be more security conscious particularly in the period of the ember months.
 
He urged store owners within Agbor and its environs to be vigilant and always take note of who comes into their stores to patronize them as some might be criminally minded.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed their arrest, “yes, it is confirmed”, she said.

A source in the police disclosed that the boys would be charged to court on Monday 23rd November 2020.
