An unidentified 17-year-old Senior Secondary School (SS2) student of Unity High School, Ago Ika, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, has been allegedly murdered by security operatives chasing a suspected Yahoo boy and injured four others in the process.
It was gathered that the slain student, a 17-year-old student was leaving the school on Thursday July 21sy 2022, after writing an examination.
The Nation learnt that the OP MESA operatives were in pursuit of a suspect internet fraudster aka Yahoo boy, who ran into the vicinity of the school.
The schoolgirl was rushed to Federal Medical Center (FMC), Abeokuta but confirmed dead on arrival, it was said.
Angry schoolmates of the slain teen stormed the Enu-Gada Police Post in Ago Ika area in protest of their colleague’s death.
They hurled stones and broken bottles into the station.
Police spokesman denied knowledge of the pupil’s death, saying, rather, that a police inspector was attacked with a machete, suffering a head injury.
