Police Officer, Driver Injured In Bullion Van Attack In Delta

A police officer attached to the United Bank of Africa (UBA) Bullion Van and the driver sustained injuries in the attack the occurred at Otor-Owhe on the Ughelli-Asaba dual carriage way in Isoko north local government area of Delta State.

A press release on Thursday January 27th 2022, by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, disclosed that no money was carted away by the hoodlums.

Hear him’ “On 27th January 2022, Policemen on UBA Specie Escort from Warri to Asaba were ambushed by heavily armed hoodlums numbering about ten  in two Seinna Vehicles along Ughelli/Ozoro Expressway, Otor-Owhe while they were on their way to transport cash from Asaba to Warri.

“In the ensued gun duel, one Policeman and the driver of the bullion van were injured.

“However, no live was lost but some of the hoodlums were fatally injured and were taken away by their gang members while the Bullion Van was recovered and taken to the Police station”.

The image maker assured that further development would be communicated, revealing that the incident is currently being investigated “while manhunt for the hoodlums is ongoing”.
