Police Arrest Nine Suspected Cultists, 17-year-old Drug Baron

Delta State police have nabbed nine members of Aiye Confraternity terrorizing parts Okpe, Jeddo and parts of Warri, Delta State.

According to the Ag. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, their arrest followed a directive by the State Commissioner of Police, Ari Mohammed Ali, to be on the watch out on cult activities bearing in mind that 7th July of every year is the day singled out by the cult group to mark their day and also bring out their ugly faces thereby causing mayhem in the society.

The release disclosed that “The DPO ‘A’ Division Warri, CSP T.Y Mahmud led men of the Divisional Rapid Respond Squad on visibility patrol. While on patrol, they intercepted and arrested one Oghenewaro Bebe, 21 years of No. 22 of Ughoton area in Okpe local government area in a full regalia of Aiye Black Axe confraternity.

“The suspect confessed to be a member of the above cult group. He led the team to a bush bar at Jeddo which is their meeting point. At the bush bar one live silver like 7.63mm ammunition was recovered.

“Suspect further led the police to Ughoton community where one of the top leader of the confraternity Oritsetusem Fenemigho 29 years is residing. He was arrested along with other members.

“Weyinmi Onomakponi 35 years, Emmanuel Edah 27 years, Osro Etiosa 23 years, Oshef  Benji 27 years, Confidence Sunday 18 years, Akintemeyin James 18 years and only female, Hope Agbogidi,  25 years.

“The following exhibits were recovered in the apartment: Two locally  made pistol, one battles axe, one long cutlass, five customized Aiye pillows, one customized center table with Aiye logo, one AK 47 expended ammunition, necklace used as body protection charm, two HP Laptop, six iphones, two suspected stolen Lexus car keys, one original and a duplicate copy.

“The said Oritseusen Fenemigho equally led the team to Idimi Osobo under Okere Urhobo where they recovered the suspected stolen car”, stressing that investigation is ongoing.

In another development, “On 8th July 2021, while men of Operation Delta Hawk Patrol teams were on stop and search along Cable Point Asaba, they intercepted one Esealuka Paul 17 years when search was conducted on him, 68 sachet of dried weed suspected to be Indian hemp, 33 sachet of SK, six packs of Razler and one lighter were found in him

He added that the suspect was arrested and Investigation is ongoing.
