Pandemonium As Youths Vow To Avenge Murder Of Vigilante Chief, Razed Down Mosque

There is high tension following the killing of a vigilante leader, George Akiru, popularly addressed as Scosco, by his fans in Jeddo Community, Okpe local government area of Delta State.

Trouble started on Friday August 20th 2021, as irate youths razed down the mosque in the area to drive home their grievances over the gruesome murder of the vigilante chairman.

It was gathered that the murder has caused palpable fear in the area, as the youths have promised to retaliate the killing of the local security Chief.

Irked by the murder of Scosco, as the deceased is foldly called, the youuth stormed the place of worship, chased out the Muslim believers before setting it ablaze.

A youth in the community, Ubada Umukoro, said, “We will soon strike back because they have killed a bona fide indigene of this town”.

It was gathered that security operatives were on ground to forestall any breakdown of law and order with a view to restoring peace in the Community.

The Ag. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, who  confirmed the incident, disclosed that investigation is ongoing.
