The Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr. Mohammed Ari Ali, said the aim was to combat crimes of all forms in the area and its environs.
His Royal Majesty (HRM), Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, Oharisi III urged the people of Ofuoma to work in synergy with the officers of the new police station in assurance to bring crime to a halt in Ughelli Kingdom, and also commended cupast for working hand in hand with stakeholders for the progress of the new divisional police force, “saying that Ughelli people are wonderdul.
“Just as the New Delta police Boss assured the Ovie of Ughelli kingdom, Oharisi III, that officers and men of the New Police station will not engaged in any form of extortion from the people; he said”.
Also in his words that November – December last year there were various cases of kidnapping, armed robbery and activities of cultism related matters within the Kingdom was at the increased.
The CP disclosed that there are three major problem facing the people of Ughelli Kingdom, kidnapping, armed robbery and cultism, with the realization of these new police station insecurity will be a thing of the past,’ the CP assured.
Oharisi III, and the new delta police Boss commends Chief Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, Chairman, Delta state Contributory Health Commission, for building such an edifice with state of the art facilities for the community, just as he appreciated Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who stand to bring insecurity to halth in Delta and in building a Stronger Delta Agenda.
High point of the ceremony was the commissioning of the New police station built and constructed by Dr. Isaac Akpoveta and the presentation of two Patrol Vehicle to the officers and men of the Ufuoma Divisional Police Headquarter.
According to Dr. Akpoveta, that the gesture is to show support to the police division and strengthen its capability for curbing violent crimes, such as cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping and other social vices in Ofuoma Community and other neighoring clans
The Commission’s Chairman made the donation on friday at the premises of the new Divisional Police Headquarters, immediately after the commissioning of police station
Also speaking, member of the coumcil of chiefs who noted that history has been made in Ofuoma community, that Ofuama divisional police heaquarter will not only stem the tide of criminal activities but will bring peace to the kingdom and its environs.
