A yet to be identified lady believed to be in her 20s has been murdered by suspected yahoo boys in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha south local government area of Delta State.
It was gathered that fear enveloped the community who woke up to see that two of her eyes were plucked out by suspected ritualists.
It was reliably learnt that the corpse of the lady was discovered by the roadside, along Ubulu-unor road, where it was dumped.
“The corpse of the lady was discovered by some passers-by who raised an alarm that attracted the community vigilantes.
“Some people who passed along the road that early morning saw the corpse of the girl and raised alarm and many people rush down to see for themselves.
“When we got there, we saw the girl, wearing jean trousers and a white top. Her face was covered in blood, and her two eyes were no more. You can see her eye socket empty.
It was gathered that the vigilantes called the police to the scene of the killing with their patrol van and evacuated the corpse to the community mortuary.
When contacted, the spokesman of Delta State police command, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the killing of the young lady.
He said, “The police were alerted to the scene of the incident by community youths who discovered the corpse of the lady with two eyes removed along the road.
“The DPO in Ogwashi-Uku who also confirmed the incident when contacted said that the corpse has been evacuated to the mortuary”.
