…We Are Not Dead, We Are Alive, Alleged Dead Couple Cries Out
A couple who married yesterday Saturday June 4rh 2022, at St. Francis Catholic Church, were among the victims of deaths recorded during the gruesome killing in Owo local government area of Ondo State.
The couples who got wedded yesterday saturday, went for thanksgiving service today been Sunday at same catholic church but met their untimely death when the suspected Fulani herdsman struck.
The Rev Father Andrew Abayomi, one of the priests at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, in an interview, said suspected terrorists struck as the day’s service was about to end.
“We were about to round off service. I had even asked people to start leaving, that was how we started hearing gunshots from different angles.”
“We hid inside the Church but some people had left when the attack happened. We locked ourselves in the church for 20 minutes. When we heard that they had left, we opened the church and rushed victims to the hospital.”
But in a swift reaction in video later released by the woman in the viral picture, she said they left the church after thanksgiving.
“Those sharing my picture saying something happened to me and my husband, please nothing happened to us. It was after the thanksgiving at a church that I went home. Nothing happened to me and my husband,” she said.
