A press release by the Ag. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright on Tuesday 8th 2021, disclosed that the victim was whisked on 6th June, by four heavily armed to the teeth bandits who sporadically shot into the air to scare away members of the public.
According to the PPRO, police operatives from Orerokpe Division were quickly detailed to the area, “The operatives on getting to the scene, sighted the hoodlums, gave them a hot chase and engaged them in a shootout at Okujorogun Community.
“They were overwhelmed by the superior fire power of the police. The hoodlums abandoned the victim and fled and the victim was rescued unhurt”, assuring that manhunt for the hoodlums is ongoing.
In another development, the police have nabbed three suspected cultists in their hideout in Azungu Quarters,
Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha south local government area of the state.
The image maker hinted that acting on intelligence, a house in the area where cultists converge and plan on their next move before attacking their fellow cult rivals was unearthed.
Hear him: “On 6th June 2021, the Commander, State Anti-cult Unit (SACU) SP Christopher Igbaji, mobilized and led a combined team of SACU and Special Tactical Squad (STS), attached to the State Command and stormed the said hideout, where three suspects namely, Lucky Nwose, 23 years, Somto Azubuike, 18 years and Omali Maxwell, 18 years were arrested.
He disclosed that all the suspects confessed to be members of Supreme Vikings confraternity aka ARO BAGGER, disclosing that one English automatic pump action gun loaded with two live cartridges was recovered just as he added that investigation is ongoing.
