The Executive Chairperson of Karim Lamido Local Government Area, Virginia Baba Bambur, has strongly condemned the latest outbreak of communal clashes involving Usumanu, Minghe, Garin Galadima, Anguwan Mission Karim, Karim Maundi, Sarkin Kudu, Lewata, Didango and several neighbouring communities.
The violence, which erupted on Saturday night, November 29, 2025, has renewed concerns over rising tensions in the area.
In a statement, Baba Bambur said the council is working closely with traditional rulers, community influencers, and security stakeholders to de-escalate the situation and restore calm.
She noted that addressing the underlying triggers remains a priority, stressing the need for sincere dialogue and inclusive engagement to prevent further breakdown of trust.
“It is crucial for all parties to embrace constructive discussions and pursue solutions that promote harmony,” she said.
“With collaboration and mutual understanding, we can secure a more peaceful future for our people.”
Baba Bambur reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration to sustainable peace-building initiatives aimed at improving security and the quality of life in the council area.
She urged residents to sheath their swords and prioritise collective peace over communal grievances, saying the path to lasting stability “depends on unity, restraint, and shared responsibility.”
