Joint Security Force Nab Three Suspected Kidnappers, Recover Two AK47 Rifles

Three suspected kidnappers have been apprehended by a joint police team in collaboration with local Vigilante group.

The team equally rescued an abducted victim and rescued two AK47 rifles during the operation.

The suspects include, Joel Akatakpo, 28, Eseoghene Ogbogbo, 36 and Telneson Juma, 30.

The Police also recovered two AK-47 rifles with breach Nos. 04174 and 30746, with NPF inscription written on it, forty-two (42) live ammunition loaded in five magazines from the suspects.

They were arrested at different locations by the Police following a case of kidnap reported by one Gloria Edowhouoro Ekpuda ‘f’ at Otu-Jeremi Division in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

The police intercepted the kidnappers who quickly reversed and sped off.

The first suspect, one Joel Akatakpo ‘m’ 28yrs was chased and arrested.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali disclosed this at a press briefing in Asaba.

He said, “The DPO Otu-Jeremi arrested two additional suspects: namely Eseoghene Ogbogbo ‘m’ 36 years and Telneson Juma ‘m’ 30 years at Agbarho and Uwamugie communities in Ughelli North Local Government.”

According to him, “When search was conducted in Telneson Juma house, two (2) AK 47 rifles with breach Nos. 04174 and 30746, with NPF inscription written on it, forty-two (42) live ammunition loaded in five magazines were recovered.

“The victim was rescued unhurt while a manhunt for two other fleeing members of the gang is ongoing.”
