How FRSC Rescued Victims Of Collapsed Storey Building In Delta

The tragic incident of a collapsed storey building in Okwe, Oshimili south local government area of Delta State, would have been worst still if not for the timely intervention of the State Commmad of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC).

The building which gave way to a heavy downpour on Saturday 12th September 2020, left four victims in critical conditions while one death was recorded.

On hearing the news of the collapsed building, the (2IC) and Head of Operations, FRSC, Mr. Bakare Fatai Adesina, swung into action and deployed his men and equipment to the scene of the building collapse on rescue mission.

As a trained road safety officer, the towing van was immediately put to work to evacuate the debris of the collapsed building in order to rescue those who were trapped under the collapsed structure.

It took the efforts of the road safety personnel under the supervision of Mr. Adesina, to evacuate the shattered building and rescued those trapped.

Mr. Adesina, commended the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Nigerian Police Force, ‘B’ Division, Asaba, for the timely response.

Others who were there includes officers of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) also on rescue mission.

It would be recall that the building belonging to a 79-year-old group Captain Sam Akhariwe, (rtd), behind Officers Mess, Okwe, collapsed in the evening of on Saturday 12th September 2020.
