A yet to be identified young girl believed to be in her 20s has reportedly died after police in stop and search tear gas travellers along Mosogar-Oghara Bridge in Ethiope east local government area of Delta State.
The girl who is believed to be an asthmatic patient was among other passengers in a Sienna Bus heading to Oghara when the incident occured.
It could not be ascertained whether the police demanded bribe from the driver that led a an argument in the process, the police opened the tear gas directly on the face of the young girl.
It was learnt that the girl passed out instantly but was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in the police Hilux Van.
There was a mild drama on the express way as passengers and sympathizers insisted that the lifeless body be left on the road.
However, from the video on Facebook, one of the police officers believed to be the team leader, directed his boys that the body be conveyed away in their Hilux.
According to the video uploaded on a Facebook page, Sapele Matters, a Good Samaritan carried the lifeless body of the girl into the Hilux Van belonging to the police, with the inscription the Nigerian Police Force, Oghara Division, Delta State with operational number 002.
Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, who confirmed the incident said the girl did not die but continued her journey to Benin which was her destination.
In a text the image maker said: “pls she didn’t even go to the hospital, she said she is okay and she went to benin which was her destination”.

We dey use this medium to call on Area Command to caution the Oghara and Mosogar Police Division for such act, and make sure say dem produce that unprofessional and unproductive Police officer.
