Edevbie’s Community Goes Berserk, Sets Man Ablaze

Angry youths in Affiesere Community, the country home of the former Chief of Staff and governorship hopeful Olorogun David Edevbie, in Ughelli north local government area of Delta State, has burnt alive a middle-aged man.

The unidentified young man, whom was learnt to be a suspected armed robber met his Waterloo on Saturday July 24th 2021, after he snatched a newly purchased motorcycle from its owner at Iwhrekpokpor roundabout, in Ughelli, the administrative headquarter of the local government area.

The incident drew a mammoth crowd to the scene, as the angry mob wore him tyre, poured fuel on it before setting him ablaze at about 4:00pm.

It was learnt that the owner of the stolen motorcycle raised alarm which attracted other motorcyclists who gave the victim a hot chase.

It was further revealed that the victim was lynched by the angry mob after he drove into Afiesere Secondary School along the road but couldn’t find escape route.

It was learnt that the angry mob beat the victim to a pulp before setting him ablaze.

When contacted Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright confirmed the incident.

“We do not encourage any form of jungle justice,” he said.
