As the race for 2021 Council elections draw closer in Delta State, the residence of the Commissioner for Power and Energy, Rt. Hon. Basil Ganagana, has been attacked.

The attack is coming on the heels of purported plans to scuttle the second term ambition of the Patani local government Chairman, Perez Omoun.

Miffed by the alleged plans to oust him out of the race, the Chairman allegedly broke into the Commissioner’s residence and destroyed vehicles and injured one of the drivers.

It was learnt that the Council boss allegedly gained access into the residence after he forcefully pulled down the gate with his Lexus SUV, which he used to ram into the iron gate.

Unable to gain access into the Commissioner’s bedroom, the Chairman allegedly destroyed cars belonging to Ganagana, parked in the premises.

Meanwhile, the Chairman is currently cooling off in the police custody at the GRA Divisional Police headquarters, Asaba.
