The Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered the immediate deployment of tactical police teams to Abraka, Ethiope east local government area, following an alarming surge in violent criminal activities threatening public safety in the region.

This decisive intervention comes amid heightened public concern, triggered by a wave of reported kidnappings, armed robberies, and cult-related violence that has flooded both traditional and social media platforms.

Residents have raised the alarm over the deteriorating security landscape, prompting the Command to respond swiftly.

Strategic Security Measures Initiated

In a bold operational directive, CP Abaniwonda tasked DCP Aina Adesola, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), with coordinating the deployment of elite tactical units to high-risk locations across Abraka. Units deployed include:

Dragon Patrol

Safer Highway Patrol

Rapid Response Squad (RRS)

State Anti-Cult Unit (SACU)

These teams have been charged with executing round-the-clock patrols, setting up strategic checkpoints, and implementing intelligence-led operations to track down and apprehend criminal elements destabilizing the area.

CP Vows: No Stone Will Be Left Unturned

CP Abaniwonda reaffirmed the Delta State Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property:

“We will leave no stone unturned. Every necessary action will be taken to dismantle criminal networks and restore peace and confidence to the good people of Abraka and beyond,” he stated.
