BREAKING NEWS: Three Days After Two Catholic Priests Kidnapped In Delta Regains Freedom

After spending 72 hours in their kidnappers den, traveling and home base Catholic priests abducted by men of the underworld, have been released.

The two priests, Rev. Fr. Raphael Ogigbah, parish priest of St. Francis Catholic Parish Agbarha-Otor, under Warri Diocese and Rev. Fr. Kunav Chochos, a Missionary Priest of the Schoenstartt Fathers, were whisked on Saturday night of April 29th 2023.

The priests who were released by their abductors on Thursday May 4th 2023, were kidnapped at the gate of Ibru College, Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli north local government area of the State.

Sufficient information has it that the duo have been reunited with the leadership of the Catholic Diocese of Warri.

The kidnappers had earlier demanded N20 million as ransom for the release of the two catholic priests buy it could not be ascertained whether the ransom was paid to secure their release.

Confirming their release, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, said: “The two Reverend fathers just got released few mins ago”.

It would be recall that The Story, had reported that two Catholic priests have been abducted in Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli north local government area of Delta State.

It would be recall also that a renowned Criminologist and governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON, has called for the immediate release of the two Catholic priests kidnapped on Saturday night.
