The Delta State Police Command, under the proactive leadership of Commissioner of Police Olufemi Abaniwonda, has recorded another breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping and violent crimes in the state, with the arrest of suspected kidnap kingpin Sanusi Abdulahi and the recovery of ₦5 million ransom.
In a release on Tuesday July 15, 2025, by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Edafe Bright said the swoop on the criminals in various locations.
Hear him: “on July 12, 2025, operatives from the Command’s Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Squad led by CSP Godwin Osadolor, stormed a criminal hideout in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South LGA, where Sanusi Abdulahi was arrested with a cash sum of ₦5,000,000, identified as part of a ransom collected from a recent victim.
“Preliminary investigations linked Sanusi and his gang to multiple kidnapping incidents in Ibusa, Ogwashi-Ukwu, Obulu-Okiti, Issele-Uku, and Issele-Asagba, including the abduction of a young woman in Ogwashi-Uku on July 9, 2025.
“The suspect led operatives to additional gang hideouts at Second Deputy and Oko in Asaba, resulting in the arrest of four other gang members. Investigations are ongoing.
“In a separate operation on July 9, 2025, at about 0835hrs, the CP’s Special Assignment Team raided a notorious hideout along the Patani–Ughelli Expressway, near Unenurhie axis.
“The suspects, identified as Solomon Danisco (aka “Picolo”), Nelson Jacob, Oruma Saturday, Olise Jude, Precious Urhobowin, and Whisky Rufus (aka “Asawana”), engaged the operatives in a fierce gun duel.
“The confrontation resulted in fatal injuries to the suspects, with six confirmed dead at the hospital and two others currently receiving treatment. Recovered from the scene were:
