As the investigation into the alleged mismanagement of N1.3 trillion and other funds during the administration of former Delta State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa deepens, an aide to the current governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, spent the Christmas and New Year holidays in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The aide, whose name has been withheld, was detained at the EFCC headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The EFCC’s Spokesperson, Mr. Dele Oyewale, confirmed to The Story on Monday, January 6, 2025, that the aide has now been released, sparking further questions about the ongoing probe and its potential implications for Delta State’s leadership.
