Artisans Set N27 Million Mansion Ablaze Over Murder, N2k Debt In Delta

Unidentified artisans have set ablaze a N27 million edifice that is under construction in Kokori, Ethiope east local government area of Delta State.

A viral video on Wednesday May 18th 2022, of the building that was on fire surfaced with voices of sympathizers on the background, saying “because of N2, 000, this is someone else’s house that has gone down. Don’t video anybody’s face”.

It was alleged that the owner of the building had a disagreement with a bricklayer whose identity is still unknown.

It was further alleged that the disagreement snowballed into a fight and the owner used a bamboo to hit the bricklayer and he died.

“Fight broke out between one brick layer and the person building the house, so along the line, the man hit bamboo on the brick layer guy head and he di£d.

“Though what brought about the fight is that the owner of the house refuse to pay the brick layer his 2k, that he wants to monitor the work first before payment”, a source alleged.

Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, debunked the report.

In a WhatsApp message, he said: “Not confirmed”.
