A 26-year-old jealous lover identified as Paul Ogilo, has stabbed a 29 years rival, Twere Shipiode, on the neck, killing him on the spot at Otu-Jeremi, the dministrative headquarter of Ughelli south local government area of Delta State.
It was gathered that the duo lay hold to a girl whose identity is yet unknown on Wednesday January 12th 2022, which led to a fisticuff between the two lovers.
Miffed by the attitude of his rival, the suspect, Ogilo, quickly reached out to his dagger with which he stabbed his rival on the neck and back until he bled to death.

Shipiode, was dead, went home to sleep but men of the Nigerian Police Force, Delta State Command, traced him to his house and arrested him.
Although, the community is calm but there is apprehension among the youths particularly friends of the deceased whom sources said may retaliate the death of their friend.
It could not be ascertained whether the girl is cooling off in police custody or not.
Our source disclosed that the suspect has been apprehended by men of the Otu-Jeremi police station.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, in a release confirmed the incident.
According to the release, “On 12th January 2022, the Divisional Police Officer Otu-Jeremi Division received a distress call that a man was stabbed to death at Otu-jeremi community in Ughelli South LGA.
“The DPO mobilized and led Police patrol teams to the scene. At the scene, the lifeless body of the man was seen in a pool of his own blood and the house deserted.
“Investigations revealed that there was an altercation between the deceased named Twere Shipiode, 29 years and one Paul Ogilo, 26 years.
“Upon an intelligence led investigation, the suspect was trailed to an uncompleted building in Otu-Jeremi where he was seen with a kitchen knife suspected to have been used in committing the crime and he was immediately arrested.
“Upon interrogation, the suspect admitted committing the dastardly act. He further stated that a fight ensued between him and the deceased after the deceased found him in his house and that the deceased accused him of attempting to defile his daughter.
“He stated that during the fight, he used the kitchen knife to stab the suspect on the neck”, the image maker disclosed that the suspect is in custody and investigation is ongoing.
