A man, identified as Ozo Oba, has stabbed his 29-year-old wife, Sandra James to death during a heated argument over hot water in Warri, Delta State.
Trouble started on Thursday evening, April 13, 2023.when the suspect, Oba, returned from market and was trying to served himself hot bath but was allegedly prevented by the late wife.
Mr. Oba, a butcher and meat seller at Igbudu Market, returned on that fateful day to be accused of the wife of not playing his role as a husband and father in the home.
It was learnt that the deceased asked her husband not to touch the water, claiming he does not give them money for upkeep or to fill the gas at home.
It was gathered that the suspected despite the accusation, undermined the wife and went straight to the cooking gas where the hot water was.
It was learnt that in the process, a heated argument occured leading to fisticuff between them as the husband repeatedly stabbed the wife until she collapsed.
The suspect, it was learnt rushed to the wife who was already in the pool of her blood to a private hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
Miffed by the action of her father, his daughter who witnessed the dastardly act, quickly reported the matter to the police, leading to the immediate arrest of Oba, the meat butcher and seller.
Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, confirmed the ugly development, saying that the suspect is in the police custody.
