514 STEP Graduands Participate In Job&Wealth Creation Bureau

No fewer than 514 beneficiaries of the Delta Job and Wealth Creation Bureau, have been given a rigorous training on Entrepreneurship and Business Management Training (EBMT) in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The Chief Job Creation Officer, Prof. Eric Eboh, said integrity remains that bedrock of the programme, charging them to ensure they apply all they have learnt into their daily business lives.

He stated this Friday April 14th 2023, in his remarks while addressing the beneficiaries in Government House, venue for the EBMT training.

He charge them to turn what they have learnt into successful business enterprises.

The beneficiaries were engaged in the 2022 cycle of the Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP).

The beneficiaries otherwise known as STEPrenurs, were trained in various skills ranging from Painting, PoP, Screed-making, Electrical Installation, Audio-Visual Services, Solar Works, Catering and Confectionery and Hairdressing, Braiding, Tiling and Interlocking.

With the conclusion of this training sections, they were fully equipped on how to manage their businesses and taken through the various stages of proficiency test.

“Starter pack is important, but it is not the most important in the programme. The most important thing is the knowledge.

“Knowledge will help you and take you from this level to a higher level. You may lose your starter pack, you can never lose the knowledge acquired because it is within you”, he declared.

According to him, they should imbibe what they gained and leverage on the platform given to them by the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s government.

He disclosed that 9,154 Deltans have benefitted through the Delta State Job and Wealth Creation Bureau, with YAGEP engaging 1,776 youths, STEP, 5,051 youths, GEEP, 170 youths and PPSP, 2,157 youths.

One of the resource persons, Chinonye Achugbue, sharwd her experiences with them.

Also, Pastor Afolabi Adun, engaged them on “Planning and Starting Your Business Enterprise: Things to Do,” “Preparing and Writing a Business Plan” and “Participants’ Practical Exercise in Preparing a Business Plan”.
