As the race towards producing the successor of the incumbent goverrnor of Delta State thickens, sons and daughters of Ughievwen kingdom have been called upon to put on their thinking caps.

A community member, Mr. Zik Gbemre, tasked the sons and daughters of Ughievwen to come together and mobilize support for Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, as governor of the state come 2023.

According to Gbemre, “In the future interest of our Clan/kingdom, Urhobo and the entire Delta State, I strongly believe there is need for Ughievwen illustrious sons and daughters to join hands together and support and pray for Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi to succeed in his governorship aspirations.

“For the fact that Ughievwen is gifted with such a great man, is something that we should be proud of and take advantage of, to have one of our own there in the Delta State Government House. We must unite and give him all the necessary support as one of  our own”.

Gbemre noted that political enemies are bent on frustrating the governorship ambition of the former Minister of State for Education, called for intercessory prayers for him.

“I am seeing the hands of political detractors who are trying to pull Gbagi down by working against him and his political ambition. As such, we should pray for him at these trying times when detractors are trying to pull him down.

“I am not a politician, and I don’t belong to any political party. And I, Zik Gbemre is not looking for any political relevance or appointments in government at any level.

“I will not even accept any political appointments, be it the Chief of Staff to Delta State Governor or to the President, or the position of Secretary to the Federal Government or to the Delta State Government”.

He pointed out that Gbagi should be given the support to succeed in his aspiration as governor of the state.

“Ughievwen Kingdom/clan should be proud that one of our own has the resources to aspire to contest as the governor of Delta State. As such, he deserves all our support and prayers to succeed. This is just my opinion”, he added.
