Ahead of the 2023 governorship race in Delta State, the Ijaws in Delta South Senatorial District, seemed to be well prepared to tackle their Delta Central Senatorial District counterparts over the governorship seat.

A post on the social media on Tuesday May 25th 2021, by a Facebook user, Owolo Tubor Oyinbi Onduku, suggests that the Ijaw ethnic nationality are allegedly muscling resources together to prosecute the governorship ambition.

According to the unedited post, Oyinbi’s post reads: “Alaowei Ebipade Ayabotu my snr brother, Delta 2023 Ijaw Agenda is sacrosanct, we must pursue it with vigour.

“Despite the shortfalls of our front line touch bearers, there is a big different between my own and our own.

“The office of a Governor is very powerful and it cannot be compared to that of a Deputy, Senator, Rep, Assembly member and whatever.

“With ljaw Governor in a twinkle of an eye, there shall be a drastic transformation of our riverine territories, such as massive construction of bridges, road network, power supply, healthcare etc.

“My prayer is for God to provide the needed financial backbone to our political aspirants in order to enable them contend with our neighbors from the other side.

“With God, all things are possible, let’s support and protect our own”, Oyinbi’s post added.
