He charged them to leverage on the brand name, the party has already was known for and use modern technologies to promote the party and its candidates in the 2023 general elections.

According to him, the party was ahead of other Nigerians in other political parties, stressing that his interest in the party made him to be
Ore inquisitive and subsequent closeness to the National Chairman.

“This party will eradicate political literacy in the country and provide solution to the number of problems bedeviling the country”.

Babangida who was elated told the national executive members of the SDP, a party he founded in a buildup to 1993 general elections that, “Seating with you has provided me with health feeling, I thank God that SDP is still existing, is for the benefits of the country.

While urging all Nigerians to join the Social Democratic Party, he said, SDP is geared to eradicate political literacy in the country and provide solution to the problems facing the country.

“This one that is left, we should support it and make sure that it is great. This baby that is left should be taken”, just as Gbagi, commended Babangida for the foresight in establishing the NFC and SDP during his administration.

“You thought it wise to establish two political parties because of the diversity of the country. It has remain one party that is without blemish, no negative records and it has not been found wanting.

“We are here to tell Nigerians that this is your party you formed, you are a Deltan we have more reasons in the country to make SDP a mirror of Nigeria.

“This one that is left, we should support it and make sure that it is great. Nobody has been able to replicate what you have done. Because they have no foundational understanding of what you know. This baby that is left should be taken”, he said.

Gbagi’s popularity keeps soaring among the masses of Delta daily as he is not known for looting of the treasury while in office, as he is set to seek support from members of the public to pave way for the defeat of PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that voter apathy that characterized previous elections in the state would be a thing of the past.

A group known as Youth Democratic Party of Nigeria (YDPN), a product of the 2020 #EndSARS protest against police brutality and bad governance, has joined forces with the Social Democratic Party to wrestle power from the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party, ahead of the 2023 election.

The group led by a young vibrant northerner, Zekeri Hashim, has relocated to Delta State, to continue with a massive registration to youths, men, women across the state for a wider database aimed at a robust engagement and emancipation.

The group already has its tentacles spread across the nation with over 18 local government areas already covered in the state. The Social Democratic Party, is currently spreading more than Harmattan fire ready to consume barriers.
