Former minister of State for education and governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, FNIM, has urged the people of Delta State to use next year’s election as an opportunity to free themselves from political domination by the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and All Progressives Congress (APC), at the centre.
The former Chairman of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, urged the people to elect Prince Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the party as president in 2023.
He said Adebayo, has brought succour to many especially through his KAFTAN TV where many young people have been trained over the years.
Addressing a christian gathering in Issele-Uku Aniocha north local government area of the state, Gbagi, said it was time for Delta State people to set themselves and the state free from the firm grip of PDP and APC whose leadership style have neither impacted positively on the lives of the masses nor translated into progress and development of the state in the last 23 years.
He urged Delta stakeholders to support the ambition of the entrepreneur, saying he is the answer to the myriads of challenges bedeviling the country.
According to him, the country has been drifting since the emergence of the All Progressives Congress, stressing that Nigeria is in a critical stage of its history.
He noted that Adebayo, has shown leadership, as an entrepreneur, noting that he has the strength to unify the country and ensure lasting prosperity.
“If you are a Deltan, what has been going on in Delta State and you know it and understand it and you can see with your two eyes. For those of you who cannot see, your children can see it and they can tell you.
“I want to plead with you people, there is an appointed time for everything. Don’t hold your chest and say who is this? You are used to umbrella, with the umbrella, rain has dredged us because the umbrella has scattered.
“Then, they deceived us by bringing the broom. The only thing we uses the broom for, is to sweep dirt. You people have seen what the broom has done.
“Today, we cannot eat, our children cannot go to school, we cannot access good medical services. The broom has swept everything away. If you give your house to someone who knows nothing and you are expecting something, you are the one that is wrong.
“Something that has no life and you want to partner with it, it shows that you have no life also. The broom has no life and the umbrella equally has no life but the horse which represents the Social Democratic Party, has life.
“The SDP is the party which MKO Abiola, a businessman who has no records of crime used in winning the presidential election. The reason is because they believed that he is a businessman, he will not steal their money and he will use it to bring development.
“That mandate they stole from Abiola, with which he wanted to bring social democracy to Nigeria, I signed that Prince Adebayo, will do for you people. He will do even more that what Abiola planned to do for Nigeria, with SDP.
“There is no genuine businessman that will want to soil his hands by stealing your money. I am a businessman. The only thing I know is business.
“This State, is the richest State in Nigeria and Africa. Let nobody deceive you, there is money here in abundance. They tell us lies because they believe that some of you if you money, you will have a voice, so they leave you in poverty so they can continue to deceive you.
“We were told that the good, the bad and the ugly lives with us. So, let us make a decision to take the good and the opportunity to take the good has presented itself to us. They are coming with money to buy you. If you allow it, that is another imprisonment for eight years.
“We had an agreement and the agreement we had, we said one turn for south and another turn for north. Buhari is from the north, should another northerner return as president?
“We have one man, his name is called Bola Tinubu, because they want to deceive us again, they gave him the founder of Boko Haram as Vice presidential candidate, the plan is clear.
“Peter Obi, is my friend but I am saying look well. Thank God that he is our immediate neighbour and we know Peter better than those people.
“The one that is left that I know very well and who I signed for that he he will not deceive us. SDP which is the oldest party and have produced a governor before. That is why I am pleading with you that you vote for Prince Adewole Adebayo, for president”, Gbagi said.
