THE STORY EXCLUSIVE: Foundation Doles Out Scholarship To Two Secondary School Students

A foundation with the aim of reaching out to indigent families particularly students in the Niger Delta Region, Barr. Oweilaemi Pereotubo Foundation, has given scholarship award to two students for their secondary school education.

The scholarship which was given on Saturday 23rd January 2021, to Miss Pere- ere Ebimobowei and Master Macbeth High-Man, would run all through their secondary school education.

According to the President cum Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of the Foundation, Barr. Oweilaemi Pereotubo, the  process of securing admission and subsequent award of the scholarship to the beneficiaries started since last year through the foundation’s consultants.

The former President, Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Worldwide, noted that the students gained admission into Federal Government College Oti, Bayelsa state, pointing out that each got about N70, 000 for a start in their first year.

He disclosed that the students were sent for to participate in an aptitude test, “this is the first time the parents and the students themselves are meeting with me” he noted.

Barr. Pereotubo, revealed that Miss Pere- ere Ebimobowei, hail from Torugbene community while Master Macbeth High-Man, is from Tuomo community both in Burutu local government area of Delta State.

Hear him: “The foundation secured admission for the duo, paid all their school fees, hostel accommodation, books, feeding before they secured admission and after they have gained admission into secondary school.

The focus of the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is to give succor to the needy in the areas of education particularly for students from the remote creeks in the Niger Delta by way of encouraging and supporting them.

He noted further that the NGO also provided medics, food and clothings for the young and the aged in the region.

The joy of both parents and the kids knew no bounds as they thanked God who has used the President of the Foundation to locate them in the creeks for the scholarship.

They futher prayed for the management of the foundation for God’s blessings and for them to do more.
