The traditional ruler and the Ugoani of Okpanam Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Chief Michael Ogbolu, made the assertion in Okpanam during a reception organized in recognition of the outstanding performance and commitment of Chief Ukah.
He said the commendation was not only that Chief Ukah played a pivotal role in the growth and development of Okpanam Community but for adding value in the critical sector of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration.
Chief Ogbolu commended Governor Okowa for his multifaceted approach towards transforming the community, recalling that the community had never had it so good before the Okowa administration came onboard in 2015 just as he stated that the governor had constructed several roads in the community.
Earlier, the organizer of the reception and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Community Development, Hon. Innocent Chibuolu, lauded the Commissioner for impacting positively on the community,
He stated that the community would continue to identify with Chief Ukah for singlehandedly ensuring that the community benefited from several human capital and infrastructural development.
While describing Chief Ukah as his political leader, Hon. Chibuolu said the strides of the Commissioner in the community was unprecedented and worthy of commendation.
Responding, Chief Ukah commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for finding him worthy to serve in his administration.
Chief Ukah said that he would have done nothing if the governor had not given him the opportunity to serve, adding that Senator Okowa was determined to create access road from Ibusa to Akwukwu-Igbo in addition to numerous roads and other people-oriented projects in the area.
The Commissioner urged the people to be more united and avoid divisive tendencies as well as strive for the development of Okpanam community at all times.
Highpoints of the ceremony was the presentation of a short drama chronicling the achievements of the Commissioner as well as the presentation of souvenir by children of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Okpanam, to Chief Ukah.
