PATIENCE ETOROMA is a product of the Delta State Government’s Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP).
She was trained and established in Fish Production in the 2016/2017 cycle.
She hails from Isoko South and is the CEO of Oruogho and Sons Enterprise located at Egbokodo-Itsekiri in Warri South Local Government Area.
She harvests and sells fish all year round. She is growing her enterprise and testifies that her business has improved the living condition of her family in the past five years. Hear her.
“From 2,000 fish in two fish ponds which I began with as a start[1]up, I now have six fish ponds stocked with 6,500 fish. I sell fish all year round, back-to-back.
I am working towards acquiring a land for expansion. It improved the quality of life in my family.
“I am happy contributing to my children’s education with the proceeds from my farm. YAGEP is a laudable and an excellent programme. I wish that it is sustained to take more youths off the streets.
“As a fish farmer, the greatest challenge I have is the high cost of fish feeds and its negative effects.
In this regard, I appeal that the State Government encourages private investors to venture into the production of fish feeds through Public Private Partnership.”
