“We Have Reasons To Thank God”, Dame Okowa Charge Deltans

Nigerians particularly Deltans have been called upon to see reasons to appreciate God in spite of the challenges faced with the year 2020.

Wife of the Delta state governor, Dame Edith Okowa, Founder 0’5 Initiative, made the assertion on Friday 18th December 2020, during the 2020 Children Christmas Party held in government house, Asaba.

The Governor’s wife who brings children together every year to celebrate with them noted that God kept Africa, Nigeria and Delta State despite life threatening predictions due to the outbreak of the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic.

“You are not better than those who died. When we were gathered here last year, who knew we were going to be having a time and when we going to gather in the world.

“That is why it is only God that knows the end from the beginning. We give Him praise, we have come here to say thank you”.

He pointed out that this year’s celebration was different from others as there were fewer attendees just to observe the Covid-19 protocols.

“But all-in-all, what we have come to say, is Father, we thank you. If you have no reason to praise God before now, everyone has a reason to praise God”.

She admonished all to praise God more than ever before this year ahead of the year 2020, “with so much challenges and so much thorns but the Lord was there for you and I. He went ahead of us that is why all the predictions that were given before Covid-19 started, failed”.

She said the lessons to learn from 2020, was to serve and love God more, “Don’t do your will. Don’t begin to plan without Jesus. Give Jesus a room in your life. 2020 is folding up with all the evils it came with and we are going into 2021, rejoicing, victorious and restored”.

She sized the opportunity to call on those who are yet to give their lives to Christ to do so, as those who enters any boat with Jesus amidst storm would land safe, “even if there will be storm but we will land safely”, just as she wished all a merry Christmas and a victorious 2021.
