US Based Anioma Association GA Chapter Holds Free Medical Mission At Alihagwu Community

The Alihagwu Community in Agbor, Ika South LGA of Delta State, was Saturday 9th December, 2023, agog with activities as the Anioma Association, Georgia Chapter, USA carried out a one day free medical outreach in collaboration with Anioma Medical Professionals Forum.

The medical mission which took place at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Hospital Alihagwu, was a comprehensive one, with well over 315 patients attended to and treated.

In his post event analysis, the Chairman of Anioma Medical Professionals Forum (AMPF), Dr. Alexander Chidubem Awunor gave credit to the US based group for sponsoring the medical programme as part of their give back to society initiative.

He affirmed that the outreach was a comprehensive healthcare package that featured health and nutritional talks, consultations, counselling, basic laboratory tests (malaria, blood sugar, urinalysis), eye screening, dispensing of eye lenses, drugs dispensing, adequate referrals.

Awunor confirmed that all the above healthcare services were rendered free to every patient that was attended to, describing the programme as massive in the history of AMPF’s operations.

In a nutshell, Dr. Awunor commended the Chairman of Anioma Association US (Georgia Chapter), Pastor Emmanuel Nwoke, the Chairman of the Medical mission Committee, Anioma Association US (Georgia Chapter), Dr. Fred Osayi and of course, a public health expert who gave a talk on nutrition.

Hygiene and lifestyle modification, Dr. Solomon Okoro for their concerns towards the health needs of the grassroots people, and in addition to working assiduously to ensure the success of the medical programme at Alihagwu Community.
