The founder of King Jesus and I Church, Pastor Joan Onyemaechi has warned Nigerians especially Deltans against making baseless statements which are capable of destroying or killing.
The former House of Representatives member gave the warning Sunday September 1, 2024, at a special thanksgiving service at Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry (MFM), Mega Region, Asaba, Delta state capital to appreciate God for her release from her kidnappers den.
The former Commissioner for Technical Education, linked her abduction to rumour mongers, warning that rumour is capable of sending one to his/her early grave, warning that many have died as a result of rumour and fake news.
She said before she was whisked away, God had impressed a song “I have a very big God”, in her spirit which she sang over and over again both at different services and occasions.
Narrating her experience, she said God assured her while she was being taken away in the speedboat that He would not disappoint her.
“After I was kidnapped and I was in that boat, heading to the destination I didn’t know that I heard clearly God said that I am by your side, I won’t disappoint you.
“God said to me that don’t worry, I am a very big God, I will not disappoint you, I will be by your side.
“God talks to us in different ways. As you have come to rejoice with me, that in the incidence of life, we should begin to give God a chance.
“Sometimes we don’t hear, sometimes, we don’t discern and that was how I went through that journey for 10 days.
“The journey that turned the sun, the day of my siblings to darkness, the journey that made them to sleep on the road and almost want to wake up my parents that have died close to 30 years ago.
“The journey that turned everybody’s day around me to darkness but one thing was clear and certain.
“As I embarked on that journey, I said God should give me wisdom and give me courage. If I had allowed fear, I would have died of heart attack.
She revealed that at a point while still on the ocean, she remembered that God divided the Red Sea for the children of Israel.
“I am here, it is by the grace of God, I am here because God decided that for whatever reason He showed me mercy and gave me a second chance to live “, she added.
