Four Hours Downpour Sacks Delta Own Media House

Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Asaba, has started receiving the heat from the rain as predicted by the Nigeria Metrological Agency (NiMET), that the state would be among states that would suffer from this year’s flood.

There are speculations that the Storm Drainage Control System constructed by the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration, may not solve the flood problem facing the state.

The about four hours rain that fell in Asaba, on Saturday, saw the state own media house having its fair share of the downpour.

The storm water control system which also connects to DBS, could not prevent rain water from settling in the premises.
The premises was littered by the flood this morning after it stopped at about 10:00am.
The Director General, Young Nigerian Rights Organization, Comrade Victor Ojei, lamented that his efforts to draw the attention of the state governor to the impending challenges coming ahead fell on deaf ears.

In another development, a gully erosion is threatening the existence of the Ibori Golf Club and road Infrastructure.
Unless urgent attention is given to it by the state government, the gully might cut off the road with economic importance to the people.
Comrade Ojei, called on well meaning Deltans and across to appeal to the state governor to direct his Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye, to look into the situation before the wet season gets to its peak.
