The monthly environmental sanitation exercise for the month of July would hold in Delta State, tomorrow, Saturday, July 30, 2022, between the hours of 7.00 am and 10:00 am.
A statement signed by the Director of Information, Mrs Theresa Oliko, said during the period of the exercise, there would be restrictions on the movement of persons and vehicles.
The statement added that the Commissioner for Environment, Chief Godspower Asiuwhu, enjoined residents to use the period to fumigate their premises, cut overgrown weeds, desilt drainages and keep their environment clean to prevent unwanted diseases.
According to the statement, the commissioner and staff in the Ministry of Environment, Environmental Taskforce and other relevant authorities will monitor the clean-up exercise.
While the Delta State Waste Management Board, local government councils and other relevant authorities are to evacuate the resultant refuse to approved government dump sites, the statement warned that those found not taking part in exercise will be brought before mobile magistrate courts and fined accordingly.
