Thousands of Christians under the auspices of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Delta State Chapter, held a Black Sunday Service to mourn the killing of young Nigerians by security agents during the #EndSars protest across the country.

Chairman, Delta state PFN, Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi, in a message titled: “Why God allows protests”, on Sunday 25th October 2020, told the Christians adorned in black that even God recognized protests as a way of expressing grievances against constituted authorities.
Recalling the protest led by Moses and Aaron against the oppression of the Israelites by the government of Pharaoh in the book of Exodus,  Enakirerhi noted that it was that God directed protest that eventually led to the freedom of Israel.

The PFN Chairman said it was sad that government security agencies shot and killed hundreds of unarmed youths who were only protesting the oppression by the police and other bad policies of the federal and state governments.
He declared the support of the church for the youths, saying the blood of the youths that died must never be allowed to be in vain.
Bishop Enakirerhi called on Christians to continue to resist bad governance and fight corruption, urging that the 1999 constitution must be reviewed to give all sections of the country equity and justice.
The PFN state Chairman urged President Muhammadu Buhari to speedily accede to the request of the youths, and called on all aged politicians who have ruled the country since independence to give way for young Nigerians to take over the leadership of the nation.
In his remarks, National Vice President, South South, of the PFN, Bishop Simeon Okah, said the nation wide youth protest was an answer to the prayers of the church for an end to corruption and bad leadership.
While lamenting the bloodshed that resulted, Bishop Okah commended the courage of the youths who paid the supreme price in the fight for a better Nigeria.
He urged other youths to be bold and continue the advocacy for freedom using all legitimate and peaceful platforms available to them.
He cautioned against looting and vandalism of public property, and warned hoodlums not to allow anyone use them to derail the focus of the agitation.
The PFN South-south leader expressed hope that a new Nigeria will soon be born.
The Black Sunday Service held at Flock of Christ Mission featured prayers for peace and good governance as well as for the repose of souls lost during #ENDSARS protests.
