DTHA Committee On Works’ Storms Isoko Nation, Expresses Satisfaction

The Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Special Projects has inspected on-going physical infrastructures in Isoko North and South local government areas of the state in continuation of the oversight duty of the State Legislature.

The leader of the team and Chairman of the Committee, Hon Oboro Kenneth Preyor, on Friday September 27, 2024, expressed satisfaction over commitment of the Oborevwori’s led administration to executing road projects in rural communities in the state.

Preyor was accompanied by other members of the committee, including Hon Emmanuel Sinebe, Ferguson Onwo, Edafe Emakpor, Bridget Anyafulu and Ebitonmo Alapala as well as representatives of the State Ministry of Works.

They inspected some infrastructure projects in the Isoko nation, including the 24 kilometers total reconstruction of Ellu-Ovrode-Ofagbe-Orieriri-Okpe Isoko-Ada-Irri road that connects communities in Isoko North and Isoko South local government areas.

The Lawmakers were also at the sites of the 2.1 kilometer phase I and 5.43 kilometer phase III of the Okpolo-Enwhe- Uwheru road in Isoko South local government area.

The Chairman Committee on Works and Special Projects, Oboro Preyor, reaffirmed the resolve of the 8th Delta Assembly to diligently carry out its constitutional assignment without fear or favour.

Preyor maintained that the Committee is irrevocably committed to supporting the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to achieving the task of ensuring and promoting all round development in the state.

He said road infrastructure is key to the MORE agenda of PDP led administration in the state and stressed the need for timely completion of projects awarded by the state government.

Hon Preyor emphasized that rural road projects would open up the grassroots for development and commended Governor Oborevwori for investing in road infrastructure in rural areas of the state.

The Lawmaker who represents Bomadi Constituency in the House, assured the people of Isoko nation of more dividends of democracy, saying that the Governor has promised Deltans MORE in terms of good governance and development.

He commended Oborevwori for delivering on his campaign promises, even as he urged contractors handling various projects for the state government to adhere to approved designs and specifications.

Preyor also urged the firms to ensure that the projects are delivered within the stipulated time frame.

The Lawmaker enjoined host communities of developmental projects to collaborate with government and contractors for peaceful execution of the projects and not to thwart the effort of government.

He also urged them to reciprocate government gesture by maintaining the projects executed within their locality.

On his part, a member of the Committee and Member Representing Isoko South 2 in the State Assembly, Hon Ferguson Onwo commended the State government for embarking on a good kilometer of road projects in Isoko nation which he said will positively impact on the people.

The oversight inspection visit to other ongoing project sites across the State continues.
