The youths who stormed the palace of the Ovie of Mosogar kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Samson Omene, Udurhie 1 of Mosogar said that they were tired of living in total darkness.
They said that they had been living without power supply in the area for the past eight years, reiterating that they were had been living in total blackout for years.
While moving along every part of the kingdom with convoys, the residents said that they were ready to continue with the protest even against the announcement from the palace kicking against it.
One of the residents, who was also among the protesters, Mr Suleman Peters said that they were not happy being in total blackout for the past eight years.
He said that tomorrow (Friday, February 12, 2021) protest would be very hot, saying that they were hoping to get good news from the appropriate authorities.
The Ovie appealed to them to calm down, assuring that light would be restored to the area.
Indigenes and residents predominantly youths of the area called on the government to also come to their aid, saying that the amount of money they had spent on fuel in running their power generating sets was alarming.
They noted that there was no way they could survive without light, lamemnting that businesses were affected and by extension their source of living.
