Gbagi, in a statement on Wednesday August 11th 2022, titled: “Towards creating a credible change”, said: “To attain credible change for our state and society, we must incentivize character and talent and build an ethical and merit-based society for ourselves.
“We therefore will consider everyone on his or her merit; We will look out for and find character, skill and commitment wherever they may be from among our diverse peoples – at home and abroad – making our heterogeneity our source of strength and advantage.
“We will recognize, engage and reward all our men and women of character and excellence in the service of our state and society; We will look beyond the surface of family, ethnic, religious backgrounds, social status and the patina of appearance.
“We will look real hard for people with real virtues, knowledge and talent; We will shun off deceit and injustice in governance. We will aim at the greater goal of effective management of our resources and directing state priorities for the good of all our people; and all these we will do with the singular aim of building and developing our state, people and society to the highest standard possible.
“This is what enlightened and effective leadership entails; and this is what our envisioned SDP government will strive to bring to our state to achieve practical, demonstrable positive change for our people and society! This is our pledge to the people of Delta state”, the statement added.
