DELTA 2023: Don’t Kill Yourselves, Omus Admonish Delta North Politicians

As the race to the 2023 general election gathers momentum, sons and daughters of Anioma Nation in politics, have been warned not to kill themselves for power and pecuniary gains but to play by the rules of the game.

The charge was contained in a Communique’ issued on Friday April 22nd 2022, at the end of the inaugural meeting of the newly constituted Anioma Council of Omus.

“The Anioma Council of Omus admonishes Anioma sons and daughters who are in politics to play it in accordance with the rules of the game and not kill themselves for power and pecuniary gains.

The Communique’ equally commended the State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, his aide, the Director General (DG), Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA), Joan Onyemaechi, fondly called Ada Anioma, have been commended for their efforts in giving a facelift to the state and its capital territory.

“The Anioma Council of Omus commends the State Government headed by our own leader, distinguished and highly achieved son,  His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for its performance and numerous accomplishments thus far, advising it to hasten development on critical areas of Asaba, Okpanam and other communities before the end of their tour of duty.

“The Anioma Council of Omus equally commends the leadership of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency headed by our own amiable daughter,  Hon. Joan Onyemaechi for the clean innovation on Asaba City,  imploring them to sustain such tempo to truly reflect the city as a foremost Capital city.

“The Anioma Council of Omus urge every citizen of Delta State to contribute their quota towards the development of the State. Our prayers are with the state and we appeal for peace and harmony ahead of the coming elections”, the Communique’added.

Meanwhile, the Communique’ signed by Her Royal Majesty (HRM) Obi Martha Dunkwu, Omu Okpanam/Omu Anioma/Nneoha, HRH Onyebuchibe Okonkwo, Omu of Obior and HRH Esther Obiogwa, Omu of Ugbolu, appointed the Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, Patrick Ochei, as the Council’s Media Adviser.

The Anioma Council of Omus equally made appointed Elder Emeka Esogbue as Research Consultant, revealing that the duo are members of the Board of Trustees of the Centre for Omuship and Women Development Initiative,  an NGO registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) by Omus in Anioma Nation to advance the development of the Omu Institution.
