Reliable information reaching The Story, news desk, have it that six doctors have been quarantined over Coronavirus pandemic in Delta State.
An impeccable source disclosed that the medical doctors are attached to the Ughelli Central Hospital, the administrative headquarter of Ughelli north local government area of the state.
Findings on Sunday 21st June 2020, revealed that the health staff got the infection due to their exposure to Covid-19 patients in their care.
According to our investigation, an undisclosed department in the hospital, has been shutdown for two weeks following the health status of staff, especially the doctors.
It was also gathered that the state health facility, housing the isolation centre, is poorly equipped as doctors lack protective kits to attend to patients.
It was reliably learnt that Ughelli metropolis may soon become an epicenter as Covid-19 seems to have a field day in the council.
There are allegations that the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration has abandoned Deltans to their faith.
It would be recall that two top government functionaries, the mouthpiece of the state government, the Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, from Ika north east local government area has been confirmed a carrier of the dreaded pandemic.
Also, the engine room of the state government, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chiedu Ebie, from Ika south local government area of the state has been infected with the disease.
The duo are among the 83 cases announced by the Nigera Center for Disease Control (NCDC), in the State.
At press time, text message sent to the mobile phone of the state Health Commissioner, Dr. Mordi Ononye, for confirmation, was rebuffed.
