The Institute of Continuing Education in Warri, Delta State, has been forcibly relocated following a court ruling in favor of the Baptist Church, Warri, its neighbor.
The institution’s former permanent site, which shared a boundary with the Baptist Church, was sealed off with a concrete wall in compliance with the court’s decision.
The Institute has been relocated to Cavagina Primary School, situated not far from its previous location along the Warri/Sapele road.
Delta State’s Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerovwo Tonukari, confirmed that the institute lost a legal battle of over a decade regarding ownership of the land on Okere road.
It lead to the institution’s relocation by the state’s Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
