The Chief Whip of Patani Legislative Arm, Hon. Ovia Sunny Nimi, who doubles as the councilor representing Ward 2 and his counterpart, Miebai James, councilor representing Ward 1 have been suspended indefinitely without salary and any other benefits.
In a letter dated Friday March 31st 2023, the duo were suspended during their sitting.
According to the letter, “their suspension is as a result of dereliction to duties, disrespect for House Leadership and acting in a manner that brings the House in a disrepute, which in all amounts to gross misconduct.
“This suspension is with immediate effect.
“The House also immediately elected Hon. David Adausi, the councilor representing Ward 5 to take over as the new Chief Whip, of the House”.
The letter was signed by the Clark of the House, Comrade Daniel Amgbare.
He said: “I am writing to convey the above resolution/decision of the House for your information and further necessary action, please”.
It was copied to the Head of Personnel Management and the Treasurer to the local government.
