Hearing in the suit challenging the emergence of Evangelist Michael Diden as the Delta South Senatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been adjourned to September 27.
However, actual hearing of the substantive suit may be further stalled as counsel to Daniel Reyenieju one of the aspirants Diden defeated during the PDP primary, Robinson Ariyo, introduced a joiner to the suit.
In accordance with extant rules a joiner will be first dispensed with before continuation of the substantive suit.
The formal commencement of hearing of the suit at the Federal High Court, Warri effectively puts a lie to an earlier fake news by mischief makers purporting that Evangelist Diden had been removed by an unnamed Abuja high court as PDP’s flag bearer for Delta South Senatorial District.
Reacting to the report, Ejele’s Media Team had described it as a “work of fiction as no suit on the candidacy of Evangelist Michael Diden is before any court in Abuja.
It was a fake news designed to cause confusion within the ranks of Delta State PDP and distract him from the task of ensuring Delta South gets effective representation in Red Chamber in 2023.
Ejele, a former chairman of the Delta Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), polled 176 votes out of 272 eligible ad-hoc delegates accredited to participate in the party’s May 22, 2022 Senatorial primary.
He defeated a former House of Representatives member, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju; a finance expert, Chief Oghogho Ayodele Othihiwa and one-time Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kent Omatsone.
